Goodbye Surf

Well, the day had to come, I traded in a Jeep Cherokee for a 2nd gen 3ltr surf, had that a couple of years, was not entirely happy with that, so traded up to a 3rd Gen 3ltr Surf, that also didn't float my boat.

So yes, I have taken Quentin's advice, and gone back to the roots of all 4x4's

Each to his own I guess, personally I'd have gone for a land cruiser, better built, more style and don't have the rear axle problems.

Still, enjoy it, on and off road.

Before I bought the Surf, I looked at the Cherokee, the Grand Cherokee, the Bighorn (couldn't live with the name) and the Paj***.

However, there were a couple of negatives with the Cherokee. The spare wheel taking up a quarter of the (not that big) boot - which was one of the things I needed, and that stoopid 4 litre engine!

As far as looks go though, it has the same sort of no-nonsense image as the Surf, much better image than the Paj***!

good luck with your jeep looking at them before i got my surf, cheap as chips because of mpg or should i say lack of them

That's the secret misnomer, I am getting on average 27mpg from the big 6 4ltr auto, about the same as my surf's, but then I do live in rural scotland, very few traffic lights and hardly any stop start driving.
