  • Dam wood worm

My garage conversion The Den Of Tranquility has some powdery rafters full of wood worm.

I've been finishing it off trying to decorate the exposed beams in Tudor style black but some have got live wood worm any ideas.

You need to spray or brush on some woodworm treatment, or if the rafters are really bad, cut back to sound timber and replace with new.
Is there ventilation in the roof? 'cos death watch beetle like damp timber to chew on!

Myproblem is that i cant access all the timber to paint on I hoped there would be a smoke bomb thingy to let off in there and then cure the problem but cant find anything.

I spent days insulating and covering in with hardboard and insulation before I spotted the ruddy things.

          Cheers JB
