  • post 96 imports?

There seems to be a big void in the imported Surf world once you start looking for anything newer than 1996. As i understand it ther was a model change then and no one has stumped up the cash for a model report on the newer models. So what are the oprtions if any- for anyone who wants somethign newer but not the UK spec double cab official model. Have i got this right or are ther lots of post 96 imports out there i dont know about.

    Hi there Buddy.

Iam not quite sure but I believe that if an inport is 10 years or older
that vehicle does not need to go through the SVA test, which can
be expensive to put through especially with the emmissinons.

I work in and out of many of the docks and you very rearlly find a
truck newer than the ten years, there are some about where they
are brought over as a personal import and the owner has done
tha SVA test but dealers just want a quick profit with out to much
    out lay .

This is my oppinion could be totally wrong though ha ha .

    All the best chris

SURF Imports have been on a decline as the RUSSIANS are buying a lot from Japan so i believe.
Mine is a late 1999 Intercooled SSRX Model which i bought privately.
It has a private plate as it is a V Plate
