may have to get rid of the surf after receiving my new insurance quote £667.80 gone up from £282 after having a crash that wasnt my fault the guy denied liability so i had to settle for a 50/50 split lost all my no claims this is how churchhills repay me for 10years as a customer dont think i can afford the insurance now i will have to get rid and get a 1litre punto or something devestated.

(sounding like a salesmen) Give Adrain flux a call mate!! I got my 1st surf at 17 and churchill were beyond useless... Said that i had to be over 21 and even then it wasnt important if it was on a full license or not!!

Im currently paying £1600 for 3rd party F&T.. Ive spoken to Adrian flux and without getting into too fine a detail they are prepared to offer me the same cover for £800. Im now 20, with almost 2 years no claims (lost 6months after getting rid of my fiesta and wasted a month or 2 with a disco)

so well worth giving them a shot before you sell the surf.

keep looking around. if thats the way they treat you leave them mate.
i was with virgin when i had my last car, and i got them to quote me for the surf. came up almost £800. so i shopped around and found one for about 600 and decided to leave. i called them and told them i need to cancell the insurance, when they asked why they said they could quote me. i thought i would humour them as she was certain they would be cheaper than what i had got. now im still with virgin and paying about £400.
there are plenty of insurers out there.
some are tailored for people with no claims and even points! some people with points may get cheaper insurance with the specialist than us!

Lifesure quoted me £320 for a 1992 2.4 ssr-x 1 years no claims. The accident will be the sticking point, I had a spill with my bike, the other party refused to accept liability ended up 50/50 split, even though I retained my NCB my insurer increased the premium by £200. was stuck like that for years

Tesco where good for me too and so where its4me. When my ex rolled my last Surf, Tesco had paid me out within 5-7 days of making the claim and they paid me the top end market price (£4500 at the time).

I have now ended up with a trade policy which covers me for loads and its £850 fully comp (I even get my van insurance on it too).

I got a deal with direct line, got my ncb from being anamed driver on the wifes car, and 10% dicount for the second car, and 10% discount for using the web, even though I phoned them, I was looking at the web site but needed to confirm details. Got it for about £300.00 fully comp.

Admiral come up fairly cheap for me @ £546 Fully comp with SDP&commuting but won't cover mods, - I'm 23, low risk postcode with 3 years NCB and currently paying £800 through Adrian Flux with mods and offroad cover, i often get quoted well over £1000 when i ring round at insurance renewal time.

Mines under £200 with Lifesure, fully comp.
When ringing for quotes or on renewal always lie and say you have had it 25%cheaper with whoever. They invariably reduce their quote to match or better beat it. They are sales people and want to retain their margin.

I always buy one of the boy racer magazines, redline or max power or one of them(redline's normally the most interesting to read), as they always have pages of adverts for insurance companies then dig out the yellow pages and literally spend a day, sometimes more, ringing up near enough all of them to try and get the best price, when they ask what's my best quote so far I won't tell them to start with. I ask them what their best price is, the if it's close(ish) i'll run them off the best quote details and let them try and match or better it. The last 3 years adrian flux have always dropped their renewal quote by about 15-20% when i ring them back and said i've been quoted cheaper, i'll always tell them who has quoted cheaper and run them down a summary of cover and excesses and everything, they tell you they'll see what they can do and invariably ring you back a little later with a better price.
