Internet Speed Test

You do have to remember that these speed tests are only a very basic indication. No use getting depressed.
Unless you're establishing a consistent connection with something for a matter of minutes or more, any speed returned is at best a rough estimate. Plus, pings are a terrible way to gauge overall speed and consistency.

Just changed from pipex to sky broadband and what a difference it makes, and both come down the same adsl line from the same exchange, also the sky one is £25 a month cheaper and has no limits on it...... go figure. Unless i go back to cable, which ain't gonna happen anytime soon (NT(HEL)L suck) a 2meg connection is the best my line will achieve given the distance to the exchange. But so far fingers crossed it's been extremely reliable and connected stably at full speed since i changed.Dyslexics of the world, UNTIE!!!!

They were charging about £35 a month for the top package, which i went for coz it was no limit on download, but i signed up with them before sky launched their £10 a month deal. To start off with pipex were ok but the service started going downhill after a few months and never improved just steadily got worse to the point when i did the speedtest.Originally posted by BUSHWHACKERJust changed from pipex to sky broadband and what a difference it makes, and both come down the same adsl line from the same exchange, also the sky one is £25 a month cheaper and has no limits on it...... go figure.
