  • Bump Stops Don't Stop Bumping

I've read all of the Threads about the knocking/grinding noise when you turn the wheels to full lock and go over kurbs etc.

I've glooped loads of grease on the cicled areas, and used Copper slip too.

I still get the knock, knock, knock when I turn the wheels to full lock.

Is there any other explanation for this noise, as I am beginning to think there could be something more serious wrong as everyone else seems to say that greasing the bump stops solves their problems.

Mine on the other hand continues. Can anyone offer some other possible problems or remedies?

    Thanks all.

It could be a CV joint if its a constant knock on full lock! Soilhull thats not to far from me! i`m in Sutton Coldfield.

Are you doing all 4, 2 on each wishbone. check the bolts arn't loose and moving. Other than that, its like posted above.....Outer CV joints.

I'd jack it up, get some one to hold it on full lock and spin the wheel and see if the joint makes any noise.

Yeah, have done both on each side. I will try your suggestion and get my cheque book at the ready!

        Thanks guys.

PS. Hiroler, where did you get your 33" tyres? Was it local? I've been trying to get some because I'm doing a suspension lift, but can't find any to fit the standard Surf Wheels.
