  • 102 RON fuel

for the V8 monsters like surfenstein:
    • New high-octane BP fuel costs £2.42 a litre
    • Could boost performance by up to 7.5% (wouldnt you have to advance the timing first?)
    • £140 to fill up with £11-a-gallon fuel (bit steep? -its cheaper to get tescos own 99ron and use an octane booster!)

older engines will love this stuff. but if you dont advance the timing then you will get a load of back firing. im thinking though that 102 will make the car feel like the ignition timing is too far retarded?

I don't think it should make a differance, the hole in your pocket would though!

used to just stick a bottle of methanol (or ethanol?) in a full tank... dunno what that made the octane though... but VERY noticable difference!

my old cavalier had a little "plug" in the engine bay that had 95RON one side and 99RON the other.... plug it in either way depending what fuel you're using.
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!
