replacment aircon gas

hi chaps just to let you guys know theres a replacement gas for the r12 called r409 or it could be r406 anyway theres no need for a conversion as this gas works fine had it done weeks ago and still sound unless someone can tell me different.cheers

The new one is legal.....it's R134a and is non CFC based.

R12 is old, CFC based and not sure if it's legal anymore

I've taken my A/C so don't use either now.....

well maybe he was a cowboy or just blagging me and put r12 in bushy but he told me 40something but who cares it works and only cost me 30 quid and he also done a leak check aswell

Anybody tried the top up bottles as sold by Halfrauds, £20 gets a small or £40 gets a big one with a gauge on so's you know how much gas to put in, the nice sales"man" rekons if it just aint cold enuf then a wee dose will do the trick.

So who all tried it?

Yep I used it last year. It worked temporarily, but the system really works better if it's drained and refilled. Which reminds me I must call the bloke and get him to come and service my system this year.

Hi m8. where did you get it done? She who must be obeyed is demanding I get my aircon sorted for the scorching summer that the weather man has promised, and as see you arent that far away from me, it may be worth the trip out to see your man.
