  • Towing Caravans

Hi there all, I,m looking for information on fuel consumption for my 3.0ltr towing a large 5 berth twin axle caravan.
What kind of mpg can I expect?
Any help will be gratefully recieved.

I tow a 1440kg single axle caravan with my Surf and get 15.5 mpg running on a 3rd veg oil, but I don`t get much more than that without the van.

Depends on the road hills and how often your up and down the gearbox, but I get round about the 20mpg towing a 1500k catering trailer but it is flat fronted so it is like having a huge sail behind you, but once you get up to speed it is great and holds the road well.

I tow a big single axle caravan and don't care about the mpg - jsut happy to have such a good truck as the surf as a tow -er.

                Used to have a 2.8 pajero - don't ask!!!!!!

Seriously, I get about 17-20 ish (would it be better with an intercooler)
