Does anyone have any sport seats fitted in there surf? if so what did you go for? are they easy to fit or did you have to mod the seat fixings. my drivers seat has a rip in it and i was thinking of getting some aftermarket seats for the front! any ideas?

recaro used to have a really nice range. i almost bought 2 front seats for my fast road car. but now they all seem really deep, and have annoying shoulder height wings on.
the recaro ones i almost bought were very similar to the ones that came standard in my truck now. the only difference being may be more padding in the ones online and differently covered. looked like suade but i doubt it was.
the ones i settled for were from an rs-turbo. they were the most comfortable seats ive ever had.
you could see about finding a s$$$$ped golf turbo and nick the recaros out of that.
the only downside ive found is being high up, when i get out i have to use the step or else the bolster gets me, and its not a nice feeling.
    Oh Nana, what's my name?

ive mailed recaro to see if the still have that type of seat.
if you do go for sporty ones might be worth noting that yes they might be good when you off road and almost about to tip over, but getting out the car gets more difficult, and you get in and out more times you go off road i bet?

Yeah I was thinking that, as the truck is lifted its hard enough getting in and out. I think thats waht was done for the current seats. I had a look at the pajero EVO seats they are nice but no chance of finding a set of them over here me thinks.

when i got the rs turbo ones there were two types, the light and dark grey. i got the dark grey ones.
i fitted them in my mk1 fiesta. the sub frames didnt match from the turbo seats so i had a look and found you can un-bolt them and swap them over. then the fitted in like they were fiesta seats.
i got this idea because i was looking on the recaro website and you have to buy the subframe seperatly (used to anyway)
so may be, since they made recaro seats for hilux anyway, you might be able to get the seats, unbolt the subframes from your toyota seats and bolt them to the recaro ones if you get them.

have you seen the hilux recaros? do you know how hard it is to come accross fish net recaros? i had a mk2 rs2000 once, and it had them as they came as standard, they were ripped and mouldy and i had people asking me to sell them.

The standard toyota seat subframes are not bolted on they are part of the whole seat frame, but if you already have the recaro seats then these have the removable subframes and this is what I used to fix my new seats in with.
