  • This weekend - Part Two

So on to the pics of what we did today....

After taking the front to bits....

with the lift done - here is the extra space in the engine bay...

And with the new grille on.....

    And next to Stein....

And this is what the back looks like with my extra few inches......

And I'll get a closer pic of the new grille soon, but I got home just after 18:30 and was not allowed to come into the house until I'd emptied the truck (Andy, all the rubbish is out, so it's no longer a tip) put everything away and had a shower - sensible woman my girlfriend..so this is what the truck looks like today - and we took the aircon out in about an hour too - next job intercooler!!!!!

Have to say it was weird to start with, it felt like I had rear wheel steer, and nearly cr**ed me pants on some of the longer bends on the A34, then after I realised that it's because when I move the steering wheel now, the wheels turn right away so what I felt was the back, with slightly more roll, responding to the front actually turning, rather than the wallowing feeling I had before!!

(M27 and M3 were car parks, but the A34 was great, flew all the way up)

I do a lot of km's but yours the the first with more apple stumps in the passenger footwell than mine!!!!!!!!!!! But I beat you on banana skins.

Lots of room now the air con has gone - and it'll all run a lot cooler.

            Hope you're happy so far.............

Happy with the lift, and the looks and thumbs up.....

But going round left hand bends, still feels like it is steering from the rear - is this just because the ARB is off??

Cheers Mark - I'll drive it about tomorrow (as I'm in Dublin the rest of this week) and the meet up on Sun in Salisbury and see how it goes - it need the new UJs fitting that will arrived while I'm out - so they'll have to go on Saturday - so I hope the other garage know how to put it all back together again....

the plains should make the springs settle in nicely.

I was in the Sainsury's filling up and this guy walked over staring at the truck saying to his girlfriend how cool it looked, and that he wanted one just like it -'It's ace, look how high it is, and the snorkel and the tyres, man that's soo cool' is what I heard when I came out of the shop, walked past him, said 'cheers' got in and drove off to him giving me two thumbs up!

There is nothing worse than chavs with the horn!

On the way up the M3 (stopped) there was a woman in a purple, that's right, purple Escort who read the stickers on the back, then pulled up and said "Did you know you can see the other side if you look under the back wheels" - so it appears I have a crystal ball fitted somewhere that helps people see the 'other side'....then she said it looked really scary....some people.
