Hi Mate Youve Been Recomended By A Few Guys On This Site ,truck In The Garage At The Moment But I Fear The Worst ,basicaly Im Looking For A Price On A New Head For My 2.4 Td But The Folks On This Site Say I Should Put The 3l Mod Head On Her ,can You Give Me A Price For This Head Please And Would You Recomend It . I bought a head from Stevo for my 3.0lt at the beginning of March. It's been on since about the 11th March. The truck is now running sweet as a nut and it's doing about 40-50kms more distance for the same amount of fuel as it drank before.
He supplies everything for the job, head bolts, head gasket, gasket kit etc. You want the head with the camshaft in as he shims this up to the new head. All you need to do is order some inlet manifold studs as the new head doesn't have these fitted, or you can re-use the old ones. The exhaust studs have a star on the end so you can use a star socket to remove them.
I did buy genuine head bolts and everything else though as i like to keep everything genuine Toyota. The head bolts are about £12 EACH so if your trying to save money use the kit he supplys. Also the head gaskets come in 5 different factory sizes and 3 aftermarket sizes. Mine was a 3 and Stevo supplied a 5 so i ordered a 3 from Toyota.
