  • what cooling mods do you have??

ok guys so whats the prefered way to keep the engine bay cool?(and the engine) and how effective is it??
i spent yesterday morning flushing engine block and rad out, cleaned out between fins on rad too.
as have found when going quickly on motorway and sometimes towing the caravan the temp does creep up some
so tryin to prepare for a nice hot summer here

I've just ordered a Shogun Intercooler, and this week having a Trooper style bonnet scoop fitted to bring air in, and two small vents behind it to let hot air out - I'll let you know how it goes...

Using the intercooler type forward facing air inlet isn't likely to do much to aid underbonnet cooling as that's more likely to stop air escaping. Since hot air rises it needs to escape from the top and therefore rearward facing vents are the best option, or raising the back edge as suggested, to allow air to escape and to be pulled out by the action of air moving over the bonnet and up the windscreen.

Alternatively, you could go down the route I took and fit a bonnet extractor fan. This does help in hot weather when towing, as the vent allows the air to escape even without the fan turned on. I tend to only put the fan on if towing uphill, when the extra suction boost from the fan does keep the temp lower and also helps to rapidly reduce water temp once the vehicle is back on the level.

Spellings fine, but your punctuation and layout is appalling.
