  • Engine Restore Oil

I read about this in a thread here. Has anyone else tried or has an opinion on it? http://www.ametech.co.uk/shopping/default.asp

I like the sound of the claims and am tempted by the hype.

    Thanks men

to me it just looks like thicker oil, I remember a few3 years ago there were loads of products claiming to do this, they seem to have all dissappeared, maybe someone is trying the same trick again.
Its not that expensive so if you are feeling rich give it a go and let us know.

If you have any doubts regarding the condition of the engine oil, replace it!!

            Especially this bit:

"There are certain brands of additives that make the claim that they'll "stop engine smoking" amongst other things. Now the way these work as I understand it, is by having some form of resin in solution form in the oil. The idea is that where the cylinder bores have become scored over years of use, oil is squirting past the piston rings and into the combustion chamber where it is being burned, hence the smokey engine. This resin makes the oil slightly thicker which helps it to seal those tiny scores whilst still lubricating the cylinder bores. The problem comes when this resin solution gets extremely hot - it turns hard. With most turbo systems, the bearings on the turbo get extremely hot, and the way around this is to use the engine oil to lube the bearings whilst at the same time transporting the heat away from them. When the additive finds its way into the turbo bearings, it can solidify and seize the turbo."

              Snake Oil

I wondered at which point this would appear
              here,
the battle has been raging with Dave Burnett (Supplier)
              for Months and Months,

In a nutshell he sells through E-bay and the like
and when it was discussed on my other forum
it caused quite a stir with the troops

May I suggest from Page 12 onwards if you wish to see his
              response to some ribbing

I have read the posts in that thread for the last few hours, not much to do here. I have come to the conclusion that stuff is best left in the tin.

                Thanks for the pointer.

I like the way the guy has joined other forums and started fishing for suckers to endorse that $$$$. After reading the thread on PH you can understand how it will not work. That has kept me amused all day!

                      We particulary

                      enjoy the assorted collection of

                      bolster his argument.

Thankyou very soddin' much. An hour wasted reading drivel from what appears to be the biggest bunch of nobheads on gods earth in the hope that one post might be even slightly above the level of 'Oh my god, what cr@p'. Jeez, well peeved.

I think someone's overdosed on grumpy flakes again.....

I kind of know what you mean though. Especially the bloke that's all "send me some and I'll put it in this old s$$$$ engine to see if it works" and then changes to "I'm not putting it in my engine in case it breaks it". Just chuck it in there. Lightweight.

Tell me about it. Flogging would be too good for that plonk. Hell, if I ever decide to commit suicide, found the perfect way now. Register on PS. After two hours on there, anything would be merciful.
