  • A great oil filter wrench

I bought a oil filter wrench from Halfords a few weeks ago for £12.99… now realise they only cost £5.95 from here:

Anyhow, regardless of price it is a really good tool. I have used it twice now and it makes changing the filter really easy.

You can tighten, slacken and re-position for the next turn easily with one hand.

My engine is the V6 petrol, but I suspect that access is just as cramped on the 2.4 & 3.0 diesel engines.

Here is an Auto Express review:

Just thought it was worth sharing.
Mine WAS a 150 bhp V6 and ran on PETROL

personally i prefer the spider filter tool, as you never need to tighten them up more than hand tight they are perfect. and a lot stronger.

    personal preferance.

I've never needed a tool to remove or replace the oil filter, I've got a 2.4 and I'm either doing something wrong to not need a tool or it's just easier.
Too old to care, young enough to remember

the 3.0 filter is at an angle which makes it awkward to get leverage with one of those strap things so i may invest in one of those 3 legged ones from halfords that you use a ratchet on

something like that it is.It certainly looks a hell of alot easier to use on the filter than those chain or strap ones
