  • Folding seats, rear space

    Hi All,

I am thinking about buying a 1991 HiLux Surf and have a quick question: do the seats in the rear fold down to give extra space in the back? I am interested in whether i can use the rear area for sleeping in :-)

    Thanks

    Simon

They do indeed. Flat and just about big enough to get a double inflatable mattress in there.

trick: take a socket set (10 or 12mm??) and you can remove the rear seat bases in 2 mins. Stash them on the front seats before you put the seat backs down and move the front seats all the way forward and you get about 8 inches extra space. its SO much better. unless you are a short ar$e in which case i'll just shut the f**k up.

Yeah, get back to your bins.

            Sorry.

Doesn't your head fall off (the end, not totally) if you take the seat bases off?

Yeah, my offside pull tab was not there when i bought my surf. But i have a pair of pliers in the drivers seat pocket which the guy said i could keep. Result, i can fold the whole rear seat down still.

                              Sorry, my mistake ;-)

I shall now be cheeky - do you reckon this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...3281&rd=1&rd=1 is a reasonable vehicle and purchase for around the £1000-£1200 amount?

Yes, obviously it's hard to say, but wanted a gut reaction - about the vehicle, please :-)
