I'm well down the rankings - if I was more creative I could post huge amounts of drivel and then I'd be Mr Popular and might even get voted IOTW too !



Then again the post count thing happens on all forums (Is that the plural of forum ???) people will always find ways to be competetive which might explain why people with older vehicles explain their choice by denigrating others and playing the 'classic' card !

Well I think its a pointless idea. Does it really matter? I think its irrelevant. People read what they want to read, ignore what they want to ignore and post what they want to post.
Start creating a top 10 and youll likely end up with all kinds of rubbish as competiton for a top ten place hots up. Who remembers SSRX3.0LTD or whatever it was and how many posts he clocked up in a very short time. I may be in a minority here, but I see this whole post count thing as a total irrelevance. Youll even end up with posts about post counts, now how boring will that be. I mean I know most of my own posts are pretty rubbish and irrelevant but at least I dont make too many.

I agree, I'd love to go through all the posts and delete the B/S, I bet some people would be shocked at how low some peoples post counts go!

I don't think this place suffers from it yet, but I've seen forums get stupidly 'hierarchy' based, and the post count is all. Its rubbish.

It's just a tool to see who has been most active on the site during the week. No harm in that. As Predictable Bob said, most forums do this and I'm sure they are not clogged by pointless posts.
