I've got a poorly 4runner
(it's apart now & being fixed)
2 REMOVED HEADS that need:- 6 EXHAUST VALVES
TIMING BELT
ALT BELT
P/STEERING BELT
HEAD SET
Upper idler
Tensioner
Then to cap it all fof the wife Scenic blew the water pump yesterday, so that's on the drive with no pump on awaiting a rebuild tonight.
How mad is this. Renault fitted it with m7 bolts with a 6.5mm torx head. talk about bl**dy stupid & a tw*t to get off!!
Ah well if it's got t*ts or an engine it always costs a fortune!

What happened to the heads that makes you need 6 new exhaust valves? I know the yanks are forever banging on about too much heat in there and that being the reason for the HG problems.

Had a compression prob & found I'd blown a hole in No.4 E Valve. Took both heads off as I didn't see the point in just inspecting the one side. There is wear accross 4 out of 6 valves (125000 miles on clock & sequential LPG kit for the last 55000). As the heads are off & I'm replacing a burnt one I decided to change them all. The heads have been skimmed, cams cleaned and shims done. HG was done as part of the Toyota fix a while ago (before I bought it). As it's in bits I've chosed to do all the bits I listed before. It's also had new plugs, leads, dizzy cap & rotor arm.
There is a train of thought that the biggest problem is the the leaness of the LPG - I'm looking to see if I can get something to delay the coil firing time when running on LPG
