        John,
Never buy a Surf unless you have a huge bank balance or own an oil well. It will keep you poor. I had to sell mine because I COULD NOT STOP DRIVING IT AND OFFERING ALL THE FAMILY LIFTS TO THE AIRPORT AND TRIPS TO THE SEASIDE. Only joaking.

It was the most wonderful vehicle of its type I've driven, I miss it dearly.
The best mpg was a 360 mile trip where I returned 36 mpg.
The worst was a 1500 mile around the country towing a caravan - 22 mpg.
I am a "Grey Nomad" as we retirees who tow caravans, are called and I used to try not to burn rubber.

My God they are beautiful motors!!! Buy a 3.0 ltr.

        Good luck. Colin.
        Regards Colin.
