With the 2001 rule, I must consider the possibility that given that in a few years the tax on 4x4s will probably be up towards a grand a year, that this might be the last Surf I ever buy cos I wont be able to afford to tax a post 2001 one.

I guess I'll have to keep this one in good nick...

Why not import a newer one, get the SORN and then use it as a Christmas tree to replace all the bits that 'fail' on your old one ?????
