4x4 light

Hi guys, a little advice please.

when i select 4 wheel drive the light on the dash comes on, but when i select 2 wheel drive again the light stays on. sometimes it can be just a few minutes but can be up to 1 hour.

I am scared stiff the 4 wheel drive is still selected and if i drive on tarmac the drive shaft will "wind up" as i understand will happen.

how can i tell if i am back in 2 wheel drive mode?

i don't use 4 wheel drive mode very often so could it be just due to lack of use and if i start using it more it should cure the problem.

is there anything else i should be doing apart from just moving the drive selector?

anybody else had this problem?

does it do it when the button is pressed aswell.Try moving forward and back a few feet when disengaging 4wd

When youve pressed the button take your foot off the gas & it should go.

i've tried stopping and putting it in neutral. going slowly. reversing. waggling stick back and forwards. pressing button, not pressing it.

still just seems to stay on for a while
