Online insurance quotes for a Surf?

I'm shopping for a 3 litre 2nd Gen Surf at the moment, but I want to check out the insurance first. Usually I do this online through sites like moneysupermarket which gives you loads of different quotes.

But any site I find never has a Surf as a vehicle option. I just get 4Runners or Pi ckups. So does this mean I have to ring round all the companies instead or does anyone know where I can do it conveniently online?

I had the same problem so in the end I called loads. Tesco turned out to be the cheapest at about £280 TPFT.

Yeah, people keep mentioning Tesco so I'll have to phone them at some point.

Also just found elephant.co.uk actually identify a Surf in their online form, so that's a start.

cracking firm, and dealt with my claim with no problems at all, specialists on grey imports. and only 280 quid

I renewed my insurance today with Adrian Flux.

£313 for comprehensive cover including PNCB, legal cover etc etc.

& they were fine with the couple of modifications on the Surf.

i have been with lifesure now for 3 years and have the surf and celica insured with them.

check under hilux, then surf or estate as body style.

Just done the Moneysupermarket thing its under Hilux on the drop down menu, however the system is a long drawn out affair with your phone going into melt down !After filling in all my details etc you get a call from them to transfer you to Call connection who then ask you for all the info again, they then give you a list of companies who could'possibly' give you a competitive quote and transfer you to one of your choices ...forgetting to tell you that you are going to have to start all over agin giving your details...because they can't share your info... Luckily Lifesure was on my list of best deals so I think inertia has set in and I will stick with them At least they know what a Surf is !

Great information everyone - thanks. I've got a couple of quotes now and it's looking much cheaper than my existing motor so I'm happy enough. Just need to find a Surf to buy now and then I'll revisit this thread and go through all the suggestions.

Take these of the list as their website when asking for a quote stipulates they dont cover Grey or Parallel imports. So those that got cover had better check their policies
