    Engineering Greats

    Ive just been watching THE HISTORY CHANNEL it was about Building the BELL ROCK LIGHTHOUSE. With all this modern technology around today you really feel for the Guys that built it. The saying "They do'nt make them like that anymore" Is very True.
    The oldest existing rock Lighthouse in the British Isles is the tower on the Bell, or Inchcape, Rock a long and treacherous reef lying in the North Sea, some 12 miles East of Dundee and in the fairway of vessels plying to and from the Firths of Tay and Forth.

    a good interesting read that Mark..

        i never realised it was on again else i would of watched it again.
        i like watching those sort of programs,like Mega structures etc some of them are good.I enjoyed the one about the Boulder Dam renamed Hoover Dam where the 1st and last people to die in the proccess of the build were father and son

                        I enjoyed that superstructures series they did on history, amaseing engineering on those projects,

                          Check out Nikolai Tesla's work for some visionary thinking.

                          Tesla Towers in particular. Fascinating stuff that never got the financial support it should perhaps have.
