strength of chassis

thinking of getting rocksliders off snatchman , seen some pics on thread about sidesteps ,there is a nice pic of sidestep i like i think nero posted it ,
the question i have is will it be ok to bolt the sidestep on by drilling through the chassis or will i weaken the chasssis ??

Bolting the sliders on should be fine but you want to support the chassis with a piece of tube to stop it being crushed by the bolt. The attached sketch shows what I mean - the chassis is blue, the slider is green and the sleeve is red

or blutack if you have to hide the fixing

spoke to gary about it and he said same thing about using a sleeve,
