  • Tell me about Torrent sites

I'd like a couple of tv shows,
They are apparently accesible although I don't know how to go about it

    in the past I have
tried these torrent sites, although when something has apparently completed, my attemts at playing them, have resulted in much
    annoyance, at resulting messages
    'this file isen't recognized'

'select a program to play this'

    etc
    etc

You need a program on your pc that supports the file format you are trying to use.

I often find that files downloaded are compressed with Winrar - is that what you mean (files are like R01, R02, etc) ?

as UD stated they normally download as Winrar compressed files. Download test version of winrar from web and then uncompress the files to extract the executables

a program that will play all media files is realplayer i use and it's good.

when you download the file check what file type it is the most common ones are avi, wma, mpeg and mov all these files will work with most media players.

when there download in winrar the film/program are split up into sections of it.

If your having trouble playing downloaded video files then get yourself a copy of K-Lite codec pack Install and it will play pretty much anything!!!

If the downloaded file is compressed, as others have said, you will need to uncompress it first. Saying that most of the TV episodes I have got, download as an AVI file but require the XVID codec to play it. Hence the need for the above codec pack.

well, once you've installed it all your compressed files (inc your films, music or whatever) will appear as a RAR file (a bundle of books bound together) right click it, 'extract files'........ select your destination folder and it'll do the rest for you......... have fun
