Stupid French cars

The diesel pump selenoid on the Citroen van has packed up. Cost of selenoid
£8.90. To replace the selenoid the pump has to be removed. To remove the pump the timing belt cover has to come off (never seen something harder to get at. May as well renew the timing belt whilst the covers off. Probable cost at garage approx £200 + the original £8.90. What a bwasterd.

Surfs are the same, in fact most modern cars are the same, at least the parts are cheap. It would be salt in the wound if the part were £200 aswell, or if you could only get the whole pump.

Typical of Citroen in my opinion. I've had the misfortune to have to work on them on occasion and almost without exception found any Citroen/Peugeot to be far more troublesome than any other make.

Yup they are almost as bad as the Surf to work on.

I gotta good S/H high pressure fuel pump if you need one much cheapness.
