Nissan attempts to take on Surf.

Driving to work this morning along a section of the A41 which has about 4 sets of lights within less than a mile (and a lot of traffic / speed cameras) I came to stop next to a new(ish) Nissan Pickup. I saw the driver looking across at my Surf.....

We both set off… I put my foot down and left him behind… We both had to stop for the next set of lights. By this time I could see that he was not happy to have been beaten by a 13 year old Surf. This time he tried his best to get away quickly…. But I easily beat him again. Next set of lights it was the same story, he then pulled in behind me and gave up trying any more. As he turned off in another direction I wonder if he knew that I had a V6 petrol under the bonnet and not the usual oil-burner….. hmmm, probably not

I didn’t use the ECT button on my auto box, nor did I rev the engine too hard since I’ve only just had the head gaskets done. Anyway it was an interesting little test.

The new Nissan D40 or Navara has the most powerful engine in its class range.. Its about 9 seconds 0-60 which is great for a 2.5TDI ....i bet he would leave me n my 2.4 standing!

It’s not something I’d normally do but it was fun…

Maybe I should put a V6 badge on the back so if he sees me again he won’t feel too embarrassed

Or maybe I’ll leave it as it is….. then he’ll think all Surfs are quick

I do it frequently in mine, especially as the chav's round here think they can just push their way through in their corsa 1.2
