          Were those off the shelf units? Did you ever get around to trying that pcb etching, BTW? Was just wondering about that the other day.

            I bought the tiny circuit ready made, and added 10mm LEDs but they don't 'blend' together how I would like.
            I got the circuit from here........

              Maybe using rectangular LED's would make it smoother. Like the type you get on VU meters.
