  • Oh Bug*er!

I decided to take the surf out for a run as it has been sitting in the barn doing nothing but gathering dust. I had to get the jump leads out as she was flat. Me and and my 4 year old son jumped in and headed towards the muddy field for some offroading. I didn't bother with 4wd as i wanted to see how far we would get..............Big mistake!!!
Got about 100 yards and stopped. Went to slip into 4wd and no green light. Tried low range.........still no 4wd and we are talking serious mud. The final humility came in the shape of my mates Disco dragging us out of the Quogg. That really hurt!
Does anybody know why this may have happened? hope not too pricey.

If it's been sitting for a while things start to stick, try just sticking the button in, driving a bit, releasing it, driving, pushing it again, driving etc.. a few times.

If that doesn't work check vacuum hoses/solenoids, electrical connections on the transfer case and front diff, and diff oil level and t/case oil.
