    rear window

    my back window has given up today went to open after work to put tools way
    and only went half way then stopped i could still hear the motor going so i gently eased it down so i could open the door. when i turned the key again to close it all i got was the sound of the motor again and no movement. i took the door apart to see the inside of the door turned the key again and just the sound of the motor i tryed to pull the window out but it was like it was stuck (i had locked catches on either side of the door so it thought it was shut too) any wayu after a little arrrr and stuff i managed to get the window back up no i have to use the side doors to get my gear out has any one got any ideas what the prob might be and how to sort it as i wont be able to do anything until the weekend ty all davey boy

    try swapping the motor from the rear passenger door for the tailgate one.I would say if the motor is still running then the teeth on the motor have had it

      The rubber drive coupling has sheared from the metal disc inside the motor.

      You need to crawl inside, with the window up and remove the motor. An 8mm ratchet spanner is the ideal tool for the job.
      Once the motor is removed, bend back the tabs on the cover plate and remove.
      Prise off the C washer, (don't let it ping off into oblivion) then knock the small drive sprocket through and you'll see three parts, A large white sprocket, a metal plate with three indents in it and a rubber cush drive that has three pimples on it.
      The metal plate and the rubber cush drive need to be glued or bolted together.


      Assembly is the reverse of removal.
