    Dear All

    I am looking for a left hand drive to use abroad that would be comparable to my surf (none are comparable I hear you yell) and as I can't find any lhd 4Runners I have come across a couple of options - any advice greatly appreciated on good points bad points and the plain don't go anywhere near points

    Choices so far

    Chevvy Blazer, Ford Explorer, Cherokee Jeep - all around 96 with 60 - 70 K Km's

          My brother is in South East Spain and he has got the Ford Expedition.The 1st one he had he imported from Texas so it was l/h/drive,top of the range full leather heated seats all round adjustable pedals and all the other $$$$ they put in.He paid about 9k 3yrs ago for it all in and got it thru ebay

              I keep looking at fleabay and the only things in my price range - around 5 - 6K are old cherokee jeeps with loads of miles on them like 150K and above. I've heard unreliability stories about them so sterring clear for the time being. Algys can import from Japan and deliver worldwide and the 3 options are their first attempt at matching my requirements. Looked at a review of the Ford Explorer in the US and there were about 50 people saying how unreliable they were too - hows your brothers Expedition treating him

                When are you actually going then Pete? Just thinking that you may be able to import one cheap enough,have you looked on U.S Ebay

                He had no trouble with the one he had apart from he wrote it off.But now he's either got another one or getting another one

                  I'm off in the beginning of May - never thought of US ebay, I'll take a look. Say hello to sunny Cornwall for me I lived in Constantine for a few years whilst I was in the Navy and also working in Falmouth Dockyard refitting ship engines and the sailing school when I left - good times!!!!!

                        Suzuki Samurai's are great fun for a weeks holiday or a weekend toy. You don't want to drive one for 2 years though or you'll shake all your teeth out

                          Cherokee 4ltr high output.. good strong engine and box..

                          Cherokee 2.5 petrol.. again good strong engine and box..

                          Land Rovers - defenders 200/300 tdi

                          Range Rovers - 3.5 or 3.9 petrol.. diesels are to sluggish..

                              I've got an explorer unfortunatley not a left hooker ,,,cos it's up for sale,,, but I've found it to be very reliable and they are very comfortable to boot
