It actually looks like some form of storage canister, judging by the fixed brackets and hoses. If it was a weight displacement type device, it would have to be on a central bearing rod, like a roller.Originally posted by openbackComment

No filler neck/cap, so that's doubtful. If you look at those connectors, you'll notice that the hose loops between them and goes nowhere else, so it would appear to be some temporarily connected item. Still no idea what it might be, though.Originally posted by dave.j.robbo
