Seeing as there's a big rush, what are they actually for? I thought they were there to make 'the wrong' wheels fit.
They increase the width of the track of the car. This slightly increases the stability of the car when cornering/on a bank. It also gives the car a slightly meaner looking stance.
Plus it looks better with the wheels filling out the arches more,
I was lucky enough to get some steel ones from Trackstore at the discount they were doing just before they went down the pan, £80 a set and strong a feck

Yeah, what he said, most its for show, tyres hiding under the arches always look a little meek, getting tyres level with the edge of the wheel arches is a huge step in a cool looking truck, without altering much, see front wheel of the bullet.

(Goes outside to look at truck, thinks that wheels would indeed look better further out, wonders where camera is, looks at gently spitting rain and contemplates the possibility of snow.....)
The Land Cruiser LJ70's have exactly the same style of alloy, but with -30mm offset, so the tyres ends up in the same place as with spacers on a Sruf alloy.
GT Dog used to have a set on his Surf. (they are in my back garden now....) and I've seen others as well.
Deeper dished wheel alwys looks nice.
