Has anyone had any success with using the online "service" or even by phone when trying to road tax their Surf. Spent too long on the phone listening to automated civil service cr@p only tot be told that I could not use this service.

Does the Ministry of Transport not realise how many grey imports there are and why are we being penalised. I now have to go the the post office and join the monster queue that always exists at the beginning of each month caused by people needing to tax their cars. And yes I know I will be one of them!

Is it just me or has anyone managed to do it on line?

Did mine online and got the disc a couple days later. was straightforward as long as you have the computerised MOT cert.

Suggestion. Try renewing your disc before the last moment, next time? You could have purchased the new disc at any time from the middle of last month. One only has oneself to blame for the predicament one is in.

Same here ,absolute doddle ,tax disc arrived within 48hrs ! Better than queuing in Barnsley post office for a couple of hours !

You're a brave man if you've ever queued in there. I always pick the smaller village/small town post offices.

BTW Matt we got a few responses from Westlands etc had help with bucking bars and other specialist tools but we are still chasing rivets (not cheap to buy so we are buying a few hundred at a time)
