  • urgent need!!!

sorry to be so dramatic but i'm in urgent need of milners tel number!!
and a little insight! on my way home from work last night my radiator exploded!!!!
I know this must be a pressure thing, but why would so much pressure build up in the cooling system?? do i have a head problem after all???

    Cheers G

You'll need a new radiator anyway however once it is fitted I would get cooling system checked for combustion pressure. The only other thing I can think of is that the rad cap is stuck shut which is allowing the pressure to build up above 1.1 Bar. Basically the radiator shouldn't blow because of pressure because the rad cap should allow it to escape to the expansion bottle. If the expansion hose is blocked or the rad cap is duff then the pressure won't release.

However the Surf rads are a bit fragile (obviously designed by the guy who designed the head) and a few people have had problems with them splitting. I'd get the check done anyway, however you might well be OK.

          Cheers
