  • Alloy bumper. (Again)

    I was enquiring regarding some aluminium tube the other day. Maximum wall thickness the place had it in was 14 gauge. Would it be beefy enough for the rear bumper? I've no idea what that is in mm, but I can remember about 5mm was suggested last time I asked for advice on here.

    14g is about 2.1mm. I'd say you need thicker.

      No idea on strength, but I think 14 gauge is a little under 2 mil.

        14swg is approx 2mm thick 10swg is 3mm thick. 3swg is approx 5mm thick, hope this is of some help.

                You might want to have a look at this too Matt. They do 4mm and might be able to sort out others for you.
