The 80 is well in the lead at the moment, and I'm slowly swaying towards one. Just seem to be the most plentiful and practical of the lot.....

          Exactly.
You don't want some battered and rusty old rock crawler, get yourself a lovely fresh 4th gen and be a trend setter!

4th gen's are very nice, but very rare with the diesel engine

The new petrol engines will be just as economical.

I'd go for a 4th gen or a 100 series Cruiser. I'd love an 80 series but I think most of them are getting on a bit.

I was speaking to Ian in Grovsner Garage, and he said that the 96-98 80 series did not come with an auto box with the diesel engine. However, it became available again on the 100 series.
Now I know the jap imports are available with diesel & auto up to 98 on the 80 series.

Can anyone confirm if this is correct? Are the UK cruisers from 96-98 available with diesel & auto?

                            Cheers
