Buying Decision - Help Needed!!!

Hi All,

I haven't posted on here in a long time, but I'm back for some advice 'n opinions please!!
Just sold my 1998 Surf and I am looking for a replacment. I have a few on the list, but am struggling to decide on which.

In no particular order,

1. 2000-2003 Surf
2. 4th Gen Surf
3. 100 series cruiser
4. 80 series cruiser

I've had my 98 ssr-g for nearly 5 years and had a 2gen before that.
I can't say I'm in favour of one over the other, I like them all equally.

So, opinions, advice or suggestions would be very welcome!!!

I would go for an 80 series Land Cruiser.

Go with the straight 6 diesel engine, not the petrol.

A mechanic that I used to work with from South Africa said it was not uncommon to find these with a million km's & still going strong.

Hehe...... I just knew the 80 series would get the vote. Whatever I buy will be diesel. Petrol is too expensive in Ireland for a big 4x4. Diesel is not too bad at € 96cent a liter (about 63p £)

Can't help with any hints on what to buy as I've never owned any of these vehicles.
I am however just about to buy a 3rd Gen intercooled Surf and would be interested on any little pointers you could give me before I shake hands on it.
Hopefully this year I may be moving to Ireland and am looking forward to paying only 63pence per litre.
