Help with insurance.

Hi All!
Iv'e just inherited a Surf (3,0 litre KZN 130 SSRX)
and my insurance people (AA) want details of the alarm
system. I only have the basic hand book. Tried all the usual
Web searches with no results.
Can anybody point me in the right direction please?

When I bought my Surf I had to have an immobiliser alarm and provide the certificate to show that it had been professionally installed. Does your alarm have an immobiliser fitted an if so do you have a key fob as this may show a manufacturer.

Lifesure don't require you to have an alarm or immobiliser and i have been with them for 3 yrs now and even when i went from the 2.4 to 3l they still never wanted an alarm

They say they just want some details of the standard
alarm installation. Even an alarm spec page from a
manual would sufice.

maybe have a look under the bonnet for the siren, it may have the manufacturer writen on it.

If you have an existing alarm/immob. and your insurance company requires a certificate (which has been lost) then you need to determine the manufacturer. Then make contact with an accreddited installer/servicer and they will come out and undertake a service and issue a certificate. I`ve just done that for a TOAD system and paid £35.00. The first quote from TOAD themselves was £150 so shop around. If you only need tech. specs. then that`s simple- the web should be able to provide the info.

If you can put up a pic of your immobiliser key i may be able to identify it for you, some of them are fairly easily recognisable. If i can't maybe someone else on here's got the same system and will recognise it anyway.

When you say the "standard" alarm do you mean factory fitted, if so there aint one, the Surf doesn't come fitted with an alarm or immobiliser
