  • steering wheel

hello to all just a quick question when changeing the steering wheel does the center bit just pull off and what size nut is underneath many thanks

  • #2
pretty much... usually about a 30mm nut.

the steering wheel is usually tricky to get off once the nut's off though... you'll need to get something behind to pull and try and shock it off.

but at the same time making sure you break your nose with it or fall over backwards!

-don't pull on the rim if poss, as steering wheels are quite often collapsible incase you nut them in an accident!
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!

Loosen the nut, but DON'T REMOVE IT!

Then, when you're pulling the wheel and it finally frees up, it won't smack you in the nose!!!
      It just does, OK?

The nut underneath is 21mm (at least I'm pretty sure it is, it's certainly no bigger than that as thats the largest socket I have).

As already mentioned, loosen it most of the way, then use a side-to-side and top-to-bottom rocking motion on the wheel to bring it loose. It'll be a bugger at first, but it will slowly come off.
