I keep getting these messages sent to my email address that say that they are undelivered messages from me to other people. How can this be, as I haven't sent anyone any emails??????

WTF is going on??

Has someone raided my computer, even though I have two firewalls, security suit, Ad Aware and Spybot protecting it???

someone's using your email as a cover when they send spam.

they send out under their name, but the return address or "from" address is marked as yours so you get the replies / bounces

Nothinng to worry about...

just someone pretending to send emails from your account (not from your PC)...it sounds a lot worse than it is...putting it simply...i suppose it is the same as sending a letter to someone..and putting your address on the back as a return address...

spammers try and send emails out from genuine addresses as the recipients are more lilly to believe its a genuine email...on this occasion the email address the spammer has sent the email to doesnt exsist...so it will simply return to sender (like a letter in the post!)


Hope this helps explain it...but nothing to worry about and there is nothing you can do to stop it unfortunatly

It depends on the nature of the firewalls. Two software firewalls running on a single PC would be bad. One software and one hardware is good. That's what I have, a software one on the PC, and a hardware one in my ADSL router.

so much security, what are you trying to protect?

i use online banking, but it's up to the bank to have their own security.

I know what these mails are, I get hundreds every day to my work email but I have a filter for them now..

If you open and read the emails I bet you will find that there are links to stuff like Viagra and such like. Its just a new way of getting spam into peoples mailboxes.

No, they seem to be coming from different people?

How can I stop all this sh*t? It just started one day and now I'm getting about 10 emails a day?!!?

your email address is stored everywhere...

someone you know forwards an email you sent them, there's a copy.
this site keeps a record of it.
anywhere you've typed it in.
