I was thinking from the standpoint of not blowing the gearbox.... as its not advised to use the 4x4 on the road in normal conditions is it..... but presumably if its snowy your gonna have the wheels slipping anyways......

Yes, you can use 4wd as long as its on stuff that will allow the wheels slip/spin and prevent wind up on the transmission, Mud, snow, ice etc

28 Jan 04 at 0055 Hrs. It is snowing flakes as big as saucers up here on the Chilterns. Only been doing it for an hour at the most and the grass is all covered. And I'm off until Friday. I wanna playYippeeeeeeeee!
