Well were back from Canada. Loads of 4 runners all new spec. Played with one on a test drive, and toyota recommend that you dont drive it in 4wd at all on dry roads cos it causes dif wind up. Had a Dodge RAm 3500 5.7ltr truck wow and a ford f350 with an 8ft bed and 5.4 ltr engine. Played with the toyota Fj the one that looks like a humvee. was very good. Got some good picks of a toyota tacuma stuck in a 4ft snow drift. There were some massive lifts out there some as big as 12 inches. Post some pics when i can. I will never complain about snow in this country ever again, having driven up a couple of mountains in the dodge and ford, they made easy work of it, there were a lot of 4 runners with snow plows fitted to the front (wife wont let me have one). Any way happy new year....

Nice one Charvell.
As you know I'm in the process of trying to emigrate there. Where did you go in Canada. I've decided on Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. I've been keeping an eye on the weather. It's been a frosty -27 lately although I noticed it warmed up to a toasty -10 last week.
I look forward to the pictures...

I was out in Calgary at the end of Nov and beginning of December - it was the coldest it's been there for that time of year for 110 years, it got as low reportedly as -42 but I only confirmed -36 - but that's still plenty cold enough!!!! I will be working out there on and off until at least next November.
My mate that lives there is into 4x4ing (4 wheeling as they call it) and has promised to take me up into the rockies which I'm well looking forward toReal trucks don't have spark plugs

Yeah.
The company I am (hopefully) going with operates out of BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. They have three Terminals in Alberta (Calgary, Edmonton and Lloydminster) and two in Saskatchewan (Saskatoon and Moose Jaw).
I decided on Saskatchewan as the house prices are a lot cheaper, so is the car insurance and free health care. Moose Jaw is home to 35,000 people, so it's not to large, but small enough to get a decent place for not much money.
The company looks like it's top notch and I will be driving Super B road trains (tri-axle Mack tractor, tri-axle trailer and a tandem trailer hooked up to that). They have quite a few English drivers working for them and no one seems to leave so they must be ok?
It's $45,000 to $55,000 per year and they pay bonuses on top of this. They also have a full benifits package including health care, dental, vision and pension. The shifts are 10 on and 4 off to start, but once you get your permanent residence you can be on 6 on 3 off etc!!
Here is a link to the company

Here is what £45,000 buys you in Saskatchewan

We don't call it the Great White North for nothin Eh!
I'm in Winnipeg, Manitoba and its been a pretty mild holiday season. Hovering near the -10 to -15 mark. We got a huge dump of snow on New Year's Eve... about 30 cm. But if you think that stopped us from gettin out and partying like it was 2006... well then you best make your way out here and learn to party like a Canuck! LOL Anyways, getting snow like that really put a boost on my wanting a Hilux, but I still think I may wait until I'm able to get a 3.0TD and that won't be for another year because of Canadian import laws.
Oh and Apache: The city you were at is Fredericton (you weren't far off on the sp!)... it's in New-Brunswick. That's the province I was born and raised in - I'm from Dalhousie - a small community on the North Shore. I moved away 4 years ago for work. Nice to hear from someone who's been around my part of the world!
Health and Happiness to all in the New Year!Looking for a 1993 Surf 3.0TD in MB, Canada. HELP!
