Are you a beta tester, Trev? What's Vista like??
          It just does, OK?

            It's fussy !!!!

I run the Grid software for cancer research, I have to manually fire off the agents each time I reboot the 2 machines.

I like the look of it including the sidebar, however cannot run BT's free AV software etc - trust Norton to be non vista complaint !!!!

That was actually due to Micro$hite. They locked all AV vendors out. They had
to hack the code to get AV working before M$ backed down regarding the subject.

                  Different

It should be safer where viruses are concerned, it cross checks before running anything - that's a great idea, BUT bl**dy annoying on machines running 24/7

Whenever I check the machines I have to let them present me with messages for virus updates

It's got a snazzy feature of a network map - great for me chacking all 5 machines working at a glance

How does that work then? Is it just a [responding|not responding] indication,
or some visual process per machine display?

It shows me the connections, it still aint a patch on VNC

As I said, I like the sidebar, you can have it connected to a RSS feed and see the messages cycle

Got to play with Sideshow and see if the PDA can play ball !

How come they only have a M$ version of the software?

But have heard it runs on Linux under emulation

Nothing like irony. Clustering software which has its roots in *nix, ported to
M$ and has to run under emulation in *nix.

I'll give it a year to let all the problems be ironed out(a la sp2 on xp)before I take the plunge.
