Off side front, there is a black canister that is forward of the wheel fixed behind the bumper. Appears to have pipes going into it, any idea what this is?

Thanks for the replies and I thought it may be some kind of vac cannister but what for. Manuals that I have don't show it although they are not spacifically for Surf. I won't touch it anyway as all is ok, just wanted to know what it is though. On the subject of unusual items, when I was fitting some new speakers to the rear I found a very small bottle with a cork stopper with Japanese writing on it. No idea what it is and have not taken stopper off to have a smell as cautious what it may be. Bottle is tiny, about an in and quarter tall and has a liquid in it. Anyone had the same?
