Can anyone tell what is the max speed of a surf?

I relaise this may diifer for the various models out there but I am looking for an indication, specifically for a 1996 2.7l petrol model, as to the max.

Also what speed rating tyres do people use for road driving?

    Thanks
    Clive

Not if you have them rechipped, but still unsure of speed as the speedo stops at 110 but I keep going

                Yep, I realise that.

However I have made a childish goof with the SVA people.

I now need to prove either:

the car has a max spoeed of 99mph
                or

I need to replace my tyres with some higher rated ones.

Explain to them that UK law prohibits you from travelling at over 70MPH so the tyress you have will do nicely thank you very much.

I heard that a Paj owner had filled in max speed as 135mph on the SVA form, wonder how he got out of that one.

A dealer friend of mine advised 85mph and 4250rpm for the SVA on a 2nd gen,and they never questioned it at the test.

That is why I need to know the max speed acording to the owners handbook.

That is why the SVA is slightly fuzzy.

If I put a 112mph on the form and had tyres rated at that speed it would be OK even if the car actually only did 99mph.
