  • Best Place to Get Work done In peterborough Area!

Anyone give me some help, did the oil change today and whilst under the car i had a look around.....UH OH!!!!!! I dont think its to bad but something is definatly leaking from the rear right Wheel Hud/Shaft area, The outside of the drum is wet and appears to becoming from inside the drum brake assem..Im thinking its the Shaft seal or one off them as the brakes appear fine and the fluid is oily... So can anyone recomend someone in the peterborugh area for me to get the car seen to, any idea how long it should take as i could always wap it into toyota! thanks in advance... JJ

it'll be the seals... pretty common on 3rd gen...

you'll be best off getting the bearing done at the same time...

not too bad a job if you've got a puller...

think it's quite pricey to get done though...

(you'll probably need new brake shoes and possibly drums too)

Sounds About right DOH!!! Is it worth getting both seals drums shoes done etc etc ? Or shall i just repaire whats required and let sleeping dogs and all that!!!!

Any idea of Time needed to do the job!
im i guessing a decent work shop will have a puller? I ask because i have Someone n mind but he;s not a 4x4 specialist, but has always done a good job on the Supra and My wife's Saab!!! but iv never seen a 4x4 in his shop....

Hence the question Anywhere good near peterborough?

      Cheers

yeah, it's the same as a supra, pretty much...

all rear wheel drive will be variations on a theme...

you'll be best off doing the bearing at the same time as the seal as it all has to come off anyway... the brake shoes will be greasy and might not clean up too well... the drums, if not badly worn should be de-greased and perhaps buffed a bit to take the shine off.

probably ideal to do both sides at the same time... save on parts postage etc. and if you replace the shoes one side, you should really do the other for even braking.
