Help needed with batteries...please...

Hi, Im from the UK, and Ive a 2.4 TD ssr-x 1992 which I love!!! now I know nothing about cars, but I bought 2 new batterys recently as the old ones were losing power overnight and wouldnt start the car the next time of using.

Anyway, im not sure which battery goes were... When looking at the engine, is it...

(left) - + (right) + - or (left) + - (right) - +

I just hope this then solves my problem.

Help is really needed, Thank you too anyone who can help me!

Red wire goes to positive, +, black wire goes to negative, -. Positives face
inwards towards the engine, negatives face outwards towards the wing.

Both have the - on the outside with the battery posts toward the rear, filler caps to front.
