  • I bet no one on this site can answer this Tech Question

    Ok: Your starter for 10:

    I have a 92 2.4TDI Hilux Ok:

    The question: For your PHD

What is the pulse of the ECU ?

    Why:

Well I have a nice Pioneer Sat NAV system in another vehicle which I don't want to let go: The nice people who fit these things say: they don't know if it can be fitted as it depends on the pulse from the ECU: My pioneer system is a CNDV-50MT :

I bet know one can snaswer this one!!!!!!!!

    They are telling you porkies...

Check with Pioneer and with Avital (now Directed Electronics), in their installer guides the information can be found...

Any probems, speak to Charles or Nigel @ www.newimagecarhifhi.co.uk

      How very dare you!!!

As your Surf is a 1992, you will have an electronic speedometer. You can 'pick up' the speed pulse from the back of the dash clocks.

The wiring for the instrument panel is here...

Gvien that even a cheap GPS system calculates speed from the rate at which it finds its location changing, what on earth needs to interface to the engine ECU?

Is it also a speed limiter ??

So it works in tunnels, forests etc.

Had one built in to a hire car in the states. Driving through the Callahan tunnel near Logan Airport, it kept going! Just as well really as I'd have been in the sh*t without it! Boston's a nightmare!
