does anyone know how much a surf with a stuffed head will be worth, as mine may have gone and was wondering if it will be cheaper to upgrade or to get it fixed, i know it will be about a grand to get it fixed but a newer one will be 2 grand plus. so a bit depressed at the mo as can't use the truck a lot

The bad news is You might not get much more than £800. I paid that for the missus 2.4 with a suspected cracked head. The problem is that there are a loads of decent 2.4's out there, if you are intending to keep the motor it might be well worth spending the grand on.

afraid that is the case, with cracked/suspected cracked head you'll be lucky to reach the £800 tag due to so many 2.4's and 3.0s (lots of other 4x4's too) being far cheaper to buy these days than say, before the confusing road tax laws on 4x4's.

get it fixed, spend the difference you would have paid on a new motor to upgrade the old one (fit an intercooler or something) and enjoy your surf again!

ok looks like i'll have to fix it then at least i'll know it should be ok for a while then

with the 2.8 head it'll be good, but make sure that's the one you get.
